Awe Letters is a showcase website. It has no accounts, no forms, no newsletter and no shop, and its own code contains no analytics or advertising tools. This page explains what is still involved when any website is served, and what you can ask for.

Who is responsible
The legal name, address and contact details of the person or business responsible for this website are still being confirmed and will be published here before the site goes live. Until then this page is a draft rather than a final statement of responsibility.
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to the contact address that will be published here before launch.
What this website does not do
There are no contact forms, sign up fields, customer accounts, payments, baskets or newsletters. The site's own code contains no analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts, no social feeds or players are embedded in the pages, and the fonts and images are served from this site rather than loaded from another company.
That describes the application. It is separate from the hosting platform, which is another company and is covered in the next two sections.
Technical information involved in serving pages
Like any website, these pages are delivered by a hosting provider and a content delivery network. To deliver a page and keep the service secure, those providers handle technical request data, which can include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and information your browser sends such as its user agent and referring page. This is ordinary infrastructure processing rather than something the site collects for its own analysis, and it means it would be wrong to say that no personal data at all is involved.
The hosting and content delivery providers in use are being confirmed and will be named here before launch rather than guessed at now.
Hosting platform measurement
Hosting platforms can offer their own visitor measurement, switched on in the platform account rather than added to the site's code. Whether that feature is active for this site has not yet been verified, so this page cannot state either way. Before launch the setting will be checked in the platform account and confirmed again by inspecting the live site's network activity, and this section will then say plainly what is or is not in use.
Purposes and lawful basis
Technical request and security data is used to deliver the pages you ask for, to keep the service available and to detect or investigate misuse. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: running a website securely and reliably. There is no marketing use, no profiling and no automated decision making.
Because that basis is legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the processing. An objection can be sent to the contact address above and will be considered on its merits.
How long information is kept
Server and security logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period set by that provider. The actual period, or the provider's stated retention criteria, will be confirmed and set out here rather than estimated. Retention is limited to what is needed for delivery, security and any legal obligation, after which records are deleted or overwritten in the provider's ordinary cycle.
Sharing and international processing
Nothing is sold or shared for marketing. Technical request data is processed by the hosting and delivery providers acting for the site. Hosting networks can route traffic through servers in more than one country. Where processing happens outside the UK, the relevant safeguards are those operated by the provider. Those providers, their locations and their safeguards will be named here once verified rather than assumed.
Links to social profiles
The site links out to the Awe Letters profiles on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. These are ordinary links: nothing from those platforms runs on this site, and nothing is sent to them unless you choose to follow a link. Once you arrive on a platform, that platform's own privacy policy and cookie practices apply.
If you choose to send a message or leave a comment on one of those profiles, the platform processes it under its own terms, and the Awe Letters operator also reads it in order to reply. Messages are kept only for as long as needed to deal with the conversation and any reasonable record of it, and are not copied into a marketing list.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, for tracking or for anything else. The cookies page explains this in more detail.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to be informed, to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict processing, to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, and to data portability where it applies.
Send any request to the contact address that will be published here before launch. Requests come to the site operator, who is responsible for answering them and for obtaining whatever is needed from the hosting and delivery providers. You do not need to approach those providers yourself.
If you are unhappy with how a request is handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
This page will be updated when the site changes or when the outstanding details are confirmed. The revision date at the top shows when the wording last changed.
